Hi, I'm Master Chris Hunt, Chief Instructor of the Leeds West AEGIS Academy
As a Parent, I know how important Martial Arts training is for the whole family
My Martial Arts journey started as a parent sat at the side, watching my 2 children. After their first trial lesson I saw the benefits it would have for them immediately & didn't hesitate to enrol them.
While watching, I saw how much fun they were having, how they were developing & even other parents training on the mat getting the same thing. So I thought, why not get started myself! I wanted to support my children and boost my own confidence by pushing myself to do things I wouldn't normally try.
After AEGIS Martial Arts had helped me so much, I wanted to help other people learn & benefit how I had. So in 2017, I joined the Certified Instructor Training Program and began my training to become a qualified AEGIS Martial Arts Instructor.
The best thing for me about being an Instructor is helping people who are in the same situation I was, needing more confidence, and it's a privilege to guide and support them on their Martial Arts journey.

The AEGIS Martial Arts Curriculum
The AEGIS Martial Arts System was founded in 1982 and has been developed over the last 40 years. With a focus on self defence, the physical martial arts is a collection of boxing, karate, kickboxing and jujitsu.
Our curriculum has a key focus on building life skills so we can help our students achieve more not just in martial arts but in all areas of their lives.
Your Instructors will be there to help, support and guide you along each step of your journey from a White Belt to a Black Belt.
